Risk-taking In The New Year

You could jump out of an airplane.  You could scale a sheer rock face.
You could base jump.  You could swim with sharks.
But if you're like most people, risk taking comes in smaller doses and on a more user-friendly scale.
My opinion?  That's the risk taking that really counts.  That's the exciting stuff.

I feel like a risk-taker everyday as the owner of a 3500 square foot furniture store,
operating in a system of commerce that doesn't work anything like it used to, and oh yeah...
in the middle of a recession.
What the heck am I doing?  Didn't I get the memo?
What did I do with what my mother called, "enough sense to get out of a shower of rain?"
Don't know.  Couldn't tell ya.
I can only say that the opportunity to take a risk just fell into my lap...and I went for it.

So, stellar team by my side, fabulous customers and clients in and out of the doors everyday...I'm stretched, scared and stunningly satisfied:  the up-side of risk taking.

Join me.  Make your 2012 a year of scary, satisfying risk-taking:

Buy a piece of art that moves you to tears, even though you have no idea why.
Get that short, sexy haircut you've always wished you had the guts to try.
Forgive someone.
Book a flight to someplace you've never been.
Tell him you love him.

...or just throw a wild colored pillow on that creamy beige sofa.  Gotta start somewhere, right?

Here's to a stretchy, scary, risky...and satisfying 2012!
